Yes you can. When adding your property details, you can choose to use your own solicitor or our Law Society CQS Solicitors. If you choose to use you own solicitor, you will be asked to enter their details and Smoover will send them an email with details on how to login.

Once you have input your property details, you will receive an email with all the details of your designated solicitor and the notice from them of all the documentation you are required to complete along with their Terms and Conditions plus Client Care documents. When you also log into your account all the information will be there to view at all times and you can also contact your solicitor via the Smoover messaging system.

All the solicitors and conveyancers are regulated and governed by the UK Laws and their own regulatory bodies. We have been careful to ensure that all the Smoover Approved legal professionals are highly respected firms in their field. If the complaint is regarding the Smoover system, then you can contact Smoover via customerservices@smoover.co.uk. If the complaint is regarding any of your conveyancing service then you will need to ask your solicitor for their complaint procedure, which should be provided to you with all your paperwork when you have signed your contracts with your assigned solicitor.
You are able to cancel your case or assigned solicitor within a seven day cooling off period without any charge. However, if you have given permission for the Solicitor to begin work on your behalf and they have incurred any costs, these may be charged. The Smoover form when adding a case only allows you to fill in two names. However if there are more parties involved, please inform your solicitor straight away as all legal documents must have all names on, and amendments will be made accordingly.
If you are only buying a property then you do not need to select your agent. However, if you are selling and cannot find your agent on the list, then you can invite them to join Smoover and they can use the system as soon as we have validated them.
You will have to pay for any disbursements that have already been incurred by your solicitor or conveyancer for the various searches etc but the fees will be waived. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more details.
You will be able to access your account through the Smoover website via your phone, PC, laptop or tablet - we are in the process of producing an app that will make it even easier to keep up to date with your case and look forward to launching that in the near future.
